Deadly Interstate 40 Collision Leaves Four Dead, One Critically Injured in Oklahoma

The tragic collision occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. near Czech Hall Road when officials say a driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-40 slammed head-on into another vehicle.
According to emergency responders, the impact of the crash was so severe that one of the vehicles burst into flames moments after the collision. Tragically, four occupants inside the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The driver accused of traveling the wrong way survived the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not yet disclosed what may have caused the driver to enter the interstate in the wrong direction.
